Summary:
Performs clerical duties and technical skills associated with document imaging procedures utilizing an electronic medical record and electronic document management system.Responsibilities:
Assists customers with issues related to scanned medical records. Resolves and performs medical record number merges in the electronic medical record and the electronic document management system. Processes unindexed work queues and creates encounters for prior records.Performs all other duties as requested.Maintains strict adherence to patient confidentiality according to Memorial Healthcare System's standards and regulatory requirements.Generates monthly quality report on document imaging scanning and indexing accuracy. Generates monthly document imaging productivity reports.Performs QA on Point of Care scanning staff.Performs Patient Identity Overlay Resolution functionality in EPIC.Assists contracted document imaging vendor with researching documents with missing billing numbers, missing patient names, and determining appropriate indexing of unfamiliar documents or new forms. Untangles documents from mixed accounts.Competencies:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Requires strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, electronic medical record and electronic document management system. Demonstrates effective communication and time management skills. Strong attention to detail needed.Required Work Experience: One (1) year of experience in an Health Information Management (HIM) or Document Imaging department.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
