As we expand our team, we are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and dynamic Senior Human Resources Generalist to help shape our organizational culture while ensuring operational excellence in HR practices.

Position Overview:

Working closely with leadership, the Senior Human Resources Generalist (Sr. HRG) will implement HR strategies that support ALFS's mission and goals while creating a positive and inclusive workplace environment. This is an opportunity for an experienced and hands-on HR practitioner to help us grow and scale the HR function and transition away from an external HR service provider model. As a standalone position, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable taking on multiple responsibilities. As our first dedicated HR professional, youll own and manage all aspects of the employee experiencefrom recruitment and onboarding to compliance, performance management, culture, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition Management

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic talent acquisition plans to ensure ALFS attracts top talent across all programs.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates (with the support of a Talent Acquisition Coordinator).
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies.
  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future workforce needs.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates for clinical, administrative, and operational roles.
  • Manage the hiring process, including posting job ads, screening applicants, conducting interviews, and extending offers.
  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed for success.

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, fostering open communication and resolving issues effectively.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.

Compliance and Policy Management

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and industry-specific regulations, including those related to employee records, labor laws, and workplace safety.
  • Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures in collaboration with leadership.
  • Conduct regular training on compliance topics, including harassment prevention, confidentiality, and ethical workplace behavior.

Performance Management and Development

  • Oversee performance review processes, providing tools and guidance to supervisors and employees.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and address employee training and development needs.
  • Support career growth by creating pathways for advancement within the organization.

Benefits Administration

  • Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, education, and problem resolution.
  • Serve as the liaison between employees and benefits providers, ensuring clarity and accessibility.

HR Operations and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including contracts, credentials, and certifications.
  • Track and report key HR metrics, such as turnover rates, time-to-hire, and employee satisfaction.
  • Partner with payroll and billing teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of compensation and reimbursements.

Payroll

  • Process and review weekly payroll for salaried, hourly, and 1099 employees, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records and reporting by updating employee classifications, auditing payroll data for salaried, hourly, and contract workers, and preparing year-end documents such as W-2s and 1099s.
  • Collaborate with teams to address payroll discrepancies, resolve inquiries for all employee types, and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.

Leadership Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Director of Operations and Clinical Director to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
  • Provide counsel to leadership on HR best practices, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Support strategic initiatives, such as program expansion and community outreach.

Leadership Capacity

  • Provide constructive feedback, developmental coaching, and support managers in addressing performance issues as needed.
  • Analyze problems, evaluate options, develop solutions, and make timely decisions to address challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of HR management experience, preferably in healthcare, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Current HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM SCP) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
